On the 30th of last month, Hogreen Air held a groundbreaking ceremony for its hydrogen fuel cell production plant located in the Gwangju Economic Free Zone's Energy Valley.

The newly established plant aims to produce 100 kW-class hydrogen fuel cells domestically. The plan is to apply these cells to the core components of mobility devices such as UAM (Urban Air Mobility) and FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles), as well as medium to large-scale hydrogen power plants in the MW unit.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key figures, including Kim Jin-cheol, the director of the Gwangju Economic Free Zone, lawmakers Lee Yong-bin and Yoon Young-deok from the Democratic Party, and David Woolhouse, CEO of Intelligent Energy, among other executives from related companies.

On the same day, Hogreen Air, along with the Gwangju Metropolitan City and the UK Embassy, signed a 'Business Agreement for the Formation of the Hydrogen Industry Ecosystem between the UK Government and Gwangju Metropolitan City.' Through this agreement, mutual cooperation was established to foster the hydrogen industry ecosystem in Gwangju and promote advancements in the field of hydrogen fuel cells.

Hogreen Air's CEO, Hong Sung-ho, expressed the company's commitment to creating a better future through clean energy, stating, "We will strive to address environmental crises and work towards creating a global energy-equal society."

Hogreen Air started as a drone specialist and expanded its focus to hydrogen fuel cell drones. In 2020, the company signed a partnership with Intelligent Energy, a UK-based fuel cell development and production company, marking its entry into the hydrogen industry.
