Hogreen Air Co., Ltd., a company specializing in hydrogen fuel cell drones (CEO: Sung-ho Hong),

announced on the 27th that it has been selected as Gwangju’s first Hydrogen Specialized Company, officially certified by Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).

Following this designation, Hogreen Air plans to participate in government support programs for hydrogen-specialized companies and will develop

and showcase a prototype of a mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging system utilizing hydrogen fuel cells.

Hogreen Air has gained industry recognition through continuous innovation and technological advancement in the hydrogen fuel cell sector.

By developing hydrogen fuel cell drones and integrating them with diverse solutions,

the company is overcoming the clear limitations of conventional battery-powered drones and is widely regarded as reshaping the paradigm of the drone market.

Recently, Hogreen Air has expanded beyond hydrogen fuel cell drones into multiple areas of the hydrogen industry, including:

Hydrogen fuel cell power generation systems for buildings and power generation
Mobile EV charging systems powered by hydrogen fuel cells
Power plant development utilizing hydrogen engines

In addition, the company is actively participating in Gwangju City–supported regional innovation growth projects,

laying a strong foundation for continued hydrogen fuel cell technology development.

Hogreen Air has also entered into an exclusive distributorship agreement with Intelligent Energy (IE)

a global hydrogen fuel cell specialist based in the United Kingdom with over 20 years of industry experience.

Through this partnership, the two companies are jointly conducting research and development (R&D) on fuel cell technologies.

These efforts culminated in Hogreen Air being selected as Gwangju’s first hydrogen-specialized company, marking a significant milestone in the city’s hydrogen industry.

This achievement is drawing attention as the first clear example of accelerated hydrogen technology innovation and industrial development in Gwangju.

CEO Sung-ho Hong stated,
“Until now, there have been no hydrogen-specialized companies in Gwangju.
Our designation as a hydrogen-specialized company can serve as a new catalyst for Gwangju as it strives to become a hydrogen city.
As Gwangju’s first hydrogen-specialized company, we are committed to building a sustainable energy ecosystem that contributes not only to regional economic growth,
but also to environmental preservation and job creation.”
He added,
“Through full-scale entry into the hydrogen industry, we aim to achieve a quantum leap and take a leading role in building the hydrogen industry eco system.”
