Hogreen Air, a specialist in hydrogen drones and fuel cells, announced on the 17th that it has launched a 100 kW hydrogen fuel cell, the 'IE-DRIVE,' employing high-power and high-density evaporation cooling (EC) technology.
The company developed the IE-DRIVE in collaboration with Intelligent Energy (IE), a UK-based hydrogen fuel cell production and development company. The product is designed for use in various applications, including heavy equipment and commercial vehicle installations. Recently showcased at the 'Big Expo 2022,' an international electric power technology expo held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju, the IE-DRIVE received considerable attention from industry professionals.
Hogreen Air plans to establish a hydrogen fuel cell production facility in Gwangju's Nambu District Industrial Complex by next year to drive the localization of hydrogen fuel cells. Leveraging the broad applicability of the IE-DRIVE hydrogen fuel cell, the company aims to collaborate with partners in various fields, including urban air mobility (UAM), commercial vehicles, ships, and power generation, for commercialization.
Starting as a specialized drone hardware and software development company, Hogreen Air successfully controlled drones over a distance of more than 9,000 km, a world-first achievement. In 2018, the company began developing hydrogen fuel cell drones in collaboration with IE in the UK to enable long-distance flights. Hogreen Air continues to focus on acquiring liquefied hydrogen technology to provide high efficiency.
